Construction update March 2019

25 March 2019

It has been almost a year since main contractor Mace started work on site at One Crown Place. Significant progress has taken place during this time with the steel and concrete frame of the building now complete up to level 12, in both the North and South towers. The office floors (from Ground - Level 6) are complete along with the first few floors of apartments and the residents' amenities. The most striking element of the construction so far is the installation of the steel trusses on the 7th and 8th floors which support the residential towers above.

Cladding and glazing on the building exterior will begin in April, followed closely by the first apartment fit-out from June. Over the next six months the services and ductwork for the offices will begin and we expect the building structure to be complete this time next year, with practical completion in early 2021.

Alongside the new office and residential building, the Georgian terrace on Sun Street is now structurally sound, with the new roof and sash windows being installed througout the Spring. By the Summer, this terrace will be watertight and the scaffolding removed, revealing the original townhouses and elegant shop fronts. These will be converted into a 41 room boutique hotel, restaurant and members' club, which will be operated by the UK's largest independent hotel group, Bespoke Hotels.
